About

I'm a certified Life Coach with four years' experience coaching young people, backed by 16 years working in education. I began my career as a PE teacher before becoming an in-house Life Coach in a school, supporting young people through some of the biggest transitions in their lives. That journey eventually led me to do what I love full-time.

I know that your twenties can feel exciting, confusing, and overwhelming all at once. You're expected to make big decisions about your career, relationships, money, and the future, often while still figuring out who you are and where you fit. That's where coaching comes in.

I work one-to-one with young adults who want more confidence, clarity, and direction. Whether you're feeling stuck, struggling with self-belief, questioning your next step, or simply wanting to build a life that feels more like your own, coaching gives you the space to think clearly, understand yourself better, and move forward with purpose.

My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to ask the right questions, challenge your thinking, and help you discover the answers that are already within you, so you can build a future that feels authentic, fulfilling, and uniquely yours.

My coaching follows three simple stages: Explore. Discover. Become.

Explore

This is where we start.
Together, we'll slow things down and make sense of where you are right now. We'll explore what's going well, what's feeling difficult, what's important to you, and what you want your life to look like - not what everyone else expects of you.

Discover

Once we've created that space, we'll uncover what's been holding you back.
Whether it's self-doubt, fear of getting it wrong, people-pleasing, comparison, or simply not knowing what your next step is, we'll work together to understand what's really going on beneath the surface.

Become

This is where things start to change.
You'll begin making decisions with more confidence, trusting yourself more, and taking meaningful steps towards a life that feels right for you. Not because someone else has told you what success should look like, but because you've discovered what matters most to you.

Testimonials

Alec created a calm, grounded environment that allowed me to untangle thoughts and feelings I’d kept bottled up for a long time. His ability to listen deeply and then reflect things back in a clear, practical way - helped me gain real understanding and made me feel genuinely heard.

- Indi (26)

Alec held a safe, non‑judgmental space where the sessions could evolve naturally. We were able to explore whatever felt most relevant, shifting focus as my needs changed. He encouraged me to reflect more deeply and supported me to make meaningful changes for myself - rather than simply telling me what to do. That balance of guidance and autonomy made the process feel empowering and genuinely personal.

- Amelia (27)

Alec was someone I could talk to when I needed it most. During my GCSEs, I felt really overwhelmed by the workload, the pressure, and the fear of not doing well. He gave me the space to be honest about how I was feeling without feeling judged. He helped me see things from a different perspective, understand my emotions, and realise that I didn't have to deal with everything on my own.
Since our sessions, I've become much better at managing my workload, I've learned that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, and I've been able to focus on what really matters instead of constantly worrying about everything.

- Emily (16)

When I first started coaching with Alec, I honestly didn't want to do it. I wasn't the type of person who opened up, and I didn't think talking would make any difference.
Looking back, I realised I wasn't just avoiding my schoolwork - I was avoiding making decisions about my future because I was scared of getting it wrong and letting my parents down. It felt easier to put things off than face what was really going on.

Alec never told me what to do or judged me. He just gave me the space to be honest with myself. For the first time, I was able to say what I actually wanted, instead of what I thought everyone else expected of me.
Our sessions helped me stop overthinking everything, face the fear instead of running from it, and start taking action. I feel so much more confident about my future now. I know there will still be challenges, but I finally feel like I've got this.

- Oscar (18)

Coaching with Alec has been the primary reason for my personal and professional development over the last two years. The environment he creates affords you the ability to be incredibly forthcoming and empower you to resolve your own thoughts and take action. It has been unique to me, enjoyable and unbelievably helpful in driving my purpose towards areas of my life. I have zero hesitation in recommending coaching with Alec - whether you think you 'need' it or 'want' it, it will without doubt add value to your life.

- Ben (26)

I was getting into trouble at school and sometimes making poor decisions around my friends. Coaching gave me a space to be heard, express myself and reflect on how I was feeling. It helped me look at things from a different perspective and realise that I was in control of my own choices.

Through coaching, I learned to take more responsibility for my decisions and manage my behaviour better at school. I was able to focus more on the things that were important to me and make better choices.

- Alex (15)

I found concentrating and focusing at school really difficult. During my GCSE year, I had a weekly walk-and-talk or hockey coaching session with Mr Stevens (Alec).

My main goal was to achieve the grades I needed to stay at the school and continue with my A-Levels. Coaching helped me recognise some of my classroom behaviours and understand the impact they were having on my learning. I realised that I needed to take more responsibility for my actions and make small changes to my routines, which helped me manage my impulses and stay more focused.

Coaching also helped me recognise how important my faith was to me and what it could offer me as a teenager. This encouraged me to join a church group, where I made new friends and found a greater sense of connection and belonging.

I’m now in my final year of A-Levels at the same school and feeling excited about the future ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a forward‑focused partnership that helps you gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and take purposeful action toward your personal or professional goals.
How is coaching different from therapy or counselling?
Coaching focuses on the present and future to help you achieve goals, while therapy or counselling addresses past experiences and mental health concerns.
Who do I work with?
I work with young adults navigating transitions - from school to work, university, early careers and their journey into adult life.
What kind of things can coaching help with?
Confidence, self-worth, motivation, direction, decision-making, building better habits (mind/body), connecting with self, achieving goals.
What happens in a coaching session?
Curious conversation, moments of reflection, curious challenge, practical steps.
How long is a session and how many will I need?
This is personal to each coachee - Each session is 1 hour and the number of sessions is dependent on the client/coach agreement.
What if I don't know what I want yet?
That’s completely normal. Many people begin coaching without a clear goal. This is something we can explore together in our initial sessions, helping you gain clarity around what you want, what’s getting in the way, and what you’d like to work towards.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are currently priced at £70 each. Discounts or flexible payment options may be available when multiple sessions are booked in advance.
Do you offer online or in person sessions?
I offer both online and in‑person sessions, depending on your location and preference, with walk‑and‑talk coaching being a particularly effective option as we move and reflect side by side.
What if I'm not confident talking about myself?
That’s completely normal. Many people feel unsure or uncomfortable opening up at first. I offer a calm, non‑judgmental space where there’s no pressure to perform or explain yourself. We take things gently, at your pace and build confidence as we go.
Is everything I say confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of our work together. Everything you share remains private, with clear and ethical boundaries. If there are concerns around safety, serious harm, or criminal activity, I have a responsibility to seek additional support to help protect you or others. This will always be handled thoughtfully and with your well-being in mind.
What if coaching doesn't work for me?
That’s absolutely okay. Coaching isn’t right for everyone and it’s important to find the support that feels right for you. If at any point you feel that coaching isn’t meeting your needs, we can talk about this openly. I’ll always encourage you to seek the form of help or support that you feel will be most beneficial for you.
Am I "behind" in life?
Absolutely not. Life isn’t about ticking boxes or having all the answers by a certain point. We each move through life in our own way and no two journeys are the same. Where you are right now is valid and it can be a meaningful place to start exploring what comes next.
Do I have to have everything figured out before starting?
No. You don’t need clarity or a fully formed plan to begin. Many people start coaching feeling uncertain or unsure about what they want. That’s completely okay. Coaching is a space to explore, reflect, and gradually make sense of things at your own pace. Clarity often comes through the process, not before it.
